Statement from Sweden for Ayla Akat

NEWS CENTER- Swedish Civil Society Organization Operation 1325 made a statement on social media and demanded Ayla Akat to be released immediately.

Swedish Civil Society Organization Operation 1325 founded by several Swedish women's and peace organizations in 2003, made a statement on social media and condemned the detention of the Free Women’s Congress Spokesperson Ayla Akat.

The statement is as follows; “We are deeply saddened and shocked by the news that our partner in the MediationLab, Ayla Akat has been arrested. She works for women's right to participate in peace negotiations, for mediation and dialogue. We demand power to women in peace processes and for Ayla's work to continue.”

The organization members stated that they hope Ayla is released as soon as possible.
