AMED - According to official statistics alone, 11,095 children were sexually molested in Turkey in 2014.

The Turkish Statistical Institute has released statistics showing that in just one year, 11,095 incidences of children being sexually harassed were brought to police in Turkey. Sexual attacks made up 9.7% of the crimes against children reported to police in Turkey. 12.4% of the victims of these crimes were boys and 87.5% of them girls.

Istanbul was the site of the most sexual attacks against children.
