ANKARA - 5,169 refugee children have gone missing in Turkey as of January 2015, according to Parliamentary representative Erdoğan Özyalçın.

Erdoğan Özyalçın asked after the fate of 5,169 refugee children who have gone missing since entering Turkey in a Parliamentary question. On July 21, 20 Afghan children disappeared five days after being recorded at the Sabancı Children's Support Center in Erzincan. Erdoğan represents Erzincan province for the Republican People's Party (CHP).

Erdoğan pointed to claims that the children are being abducted by a criminal network, in which Turkish bureaucrats play a part. He requested information about any investigations into organ or sex trafficking gangs abducting the children.
