Health workers attacked in Silopi

ŞIRNEX - Yesterday, as police besieged neighborhoods in the town of Silopi, two women emergency paramedics became targets of police violence.
Three died yesterday in the Kurdish town of Silopi, Turkey. Events started when police launched an assault, responding to the trenches neighborhood residents had dug to stop the frequent police raids. When two women emergency workers went to the scene to carry away the wounded and resisted police blocks on their work, police attacked them, as well.
The Turkish Medical Association made a statement announcing that there had been serious handicaps to the ability of health workers to reach neighborhoods throughout the day yesterday.
