NEWS CENTER - YPJ/YPG forces have announced that the Turkish army shelled YPG/YPJ positions in Rojava, rather than attacking ISIS.
On July 24, the Turkish army shelled YPJ/YPG and Free Syrian Army positions in the village of Zormikhar, near the Daesh-occupied town of Jarablus, said the YPJ/YPG in a statement. Four FSA fighters and several local villagers were injured, the statement said.
On July 26, Turkish tanks shelled the same village with seven rounds. An hour later, a YPJ/YPG vehicle came under heavy fire in the village of TilFindire between Kobanê and GirêSpî.
"Instead of targeting ISIS terrorists’ occupied positions, Turkish forces attack our defenders' positions," said the forces in a statement. "This is not the right attitude. We urge Turkish leadership to halt this aggression and to follow international guidelines."
