ISTANBUL - In Istanbul, a man has kidnapped the woman he was abusing. The woman's mother says she fears for her life.

Onur Özbizerdik is a relative of members of the mafia and ultranationalist organizations in Turkey. Onur was released from jail recently. Shortly thereafter, Onur's girlfriend Melis Çakır was seen at the hospital with a broken nose and teeth. Melis testified that she feared for her life. Soon after, Melis allegedly withdrew her complaint and told the court that, "I deserved to be hit." Onur went free.

Now, Onur has kidnapped Melis, according to her mother Zehra. Police have still not found her. Yesterday, says Zehra, Onur called to say that he had "torn her to pieces" again. In the background, Melis said that she was going to be killed.

"I'm scared every day that a corpse will come home to me," said Zehra. She called on the authorities to find her daughter.
