QAMIŞLO/TIL TEMIR - In Rojava, members of the women's movement are speaking out against the massacre in Suruç on Monday.

On Monday, a bombing targeted a group of young activists from across Turkey. The activists were planning to cross into the Rojava city of Kobanê to help rebuild the city, devastated by a long assault by Daesh and liberated by the resistance of YPJ/YPG fighters. In cities in Rojava's Cizîrê Canton, women's movement activists have denounced the massacre and promised to honor the memory of the youth killed.

Qamişlo Women's House director Ilham Omer wished condolences to the families. She noted that just a month ago, the attack against civilians in Kobanê bore the mark of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's hand, and the same was true for the Suruç massacre. Rojava Free Women's Foundation director Hena Hali joined in condemning the massacre. "However many explosions and massacres they commit, they can't break the hands of the Turkish and Kurdish people joined in fraternity. Now matter how much our enemies try, they can't turn us against each other," she said.

Terfa Fewaz, director of the women's organization Yekîtiya Star in the city of Til Temir, promised to continue the struggle of the youth killed in the massacre. "It's thanks to youths and martyrs that we are continuing to live bright days. We won't be silent in the face of this massacre," she said.
