RIHA - After a bombing targeting youth activists in the town of Suruç, a vigil in memory of the youth has begun in the garden of the culture center where they were slain.

On Monday, 300 young activists from the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations were giving a press conference to announce their plans to aid in the reconstruction of Kobanê when a bomb went off. Following autopsies, the identities of the 32 have all been confirmed. The majority of the dead were university students.

At the Amara Culture Center, the people of Suruç have gathered to hold a vigil for the dead. The site of the massacre has been hung with black cloth and through communal labor, local people have set up tea and chairs. Local youth have also formed a people's security checkpoint around the area.

The first overnight candlelit vigil will take place tonight. Kurdish artists have volunteered to hold the first vigil.
