QAMIŞLO - After the massacre in Suruç on Monday, Rojava youth activists have called for youth around the world to recognize no borders.

Rûheyv Agirî, from the Rojava Young Women's Movement, noted that the attack coincided with the third anniversary of the revolution in Rojava. "The repressive system wants to drown youth in dirty policies," said Rûheyv.

"It wasn't just Kurdish youth who came to Suruç. It was youth from all segments of society who wanted to build Kobanê, but this sent the Turkish state into a state of fear," said Berçem Ronî, director of the Rojava Youth Union. She called the attack a demonstration of the Turkish state's and Daesh's intolerance of the recent victories in Rojava, particularly YPG/YPJ forces victory in the city of Girê Spî.

"Youth must not recognize borders any more," said Berçem.
