ANKARA - After posters enjoining the killing of LGBTI people were found in Ankara, LGBTI groups have filed charges.
Posters appeared throughout the streets of Turkey's capital soon after Pride this year bearing the message: "If you see someone doing the ugly business of the people of Lot, kill the doer and the one done to!" In the Torah and the Qur'an, God sends Lot to proselytize to a people practicing homosexuality. The posters included a photograph of a Pride celebration.
Now, the LGBTI groups Kaos GL and the Pink Life Associations have filed hate crime charges against the group that claimed the posters, Young Islamic Defense. The groups called for the safety of LBTI people to be guaranteed.
