TIL TEMIR - The city of Til Temir, Rojava, long under attack by Daesh, has restarted its People's Court for the first time since the attacks with a new emphasis on women's liberation.
Til Temir, a city located in Cizîrê Canton of the Rojava autonomous region of Syria, has a People's Court to solve local problems, made up of six men and three women. Since the city was liberated from Daesh attacks, Nadin Ebdo--one of the court's women members--has reported that the court has resumed operation.
During the attacks, the members of the court left the city. They took advantage of the break part in an educational program on women's history and liberation. Nadin said that now, the court has come back better prepared to solve women's issues; 10 of the 15 cases they have seen since returning have involved gendered problems.
