ISTANBUL - The case of Maritsa Küçük, one of many elderly Armenian women killed in a single neighborhood in Istanbul, will resume tomorrow. The Human Rights Association has called for the case to be considered alongside the string of similar attacks on Armenian women.
Maritsa Küçük was killed in a string of attacks on Armenian women in the neighborhood of Samatya, Istanbul. 85-year-old Maritsa was killed in the home where she lived alone. It was the second attack on an elderly Armenian woman in the neighborhood in one month, after 83-year-old Sultan Aykar was also attacked in her home. She survived the attack, but lost an eye. Many Armenians have called for the attacks to be investigated as hate crimes.
The Istanbul Human Rights Association's Committee Against Racism and Discrimination has called for the event to be fully investigated and to consider the file on Sultan Aykar in tomorrow's 15th hearing of the Maritsa Küçük case.
