KOBANÊ – YPG/YPJ forces are continuing efforts to clear Kobanê canton of members of the Daesh gangs in the wake of yesterday's attacks.

Yesterday, members of the Daesh gang entered the city of Kobanê, one of the three cantons of the Rojava autonomous region, with simultaneous attacks on civilians in the city center and several surrounding villages. The death toll in the attack has risen past 70, while hundreds are wounded. Most have been hospitalized across the border, in Turkey.

Yesterday, YPG/YPJ and Asayish (peacekeeping) forces in charge of the city's defense surrounded several groups of Daesh gangs in the city and villages. Initial reports indicated that 30 gang members were killed. YPG/YPJ forces have said they are continuing their operations today.
