MUĞLA– In the province of Muğla, Turkey, a university student was found after being kidnapped by her harasser.

Feride is a student in Muğla province and a member of the Muğla group University Women's Collective. On Thursday evening, shewas abducted in the middle of the street by a man who had harassed her for years, along with two of his friends. Women in Muğla started a search for Feride, finally finding video footage from a nearby shop showing the event. However, police refused to investigate the abduction.

According to Muğla women, Feride's abductors threatened her so that she would say in a phone conversation that she came with them of her own free will. Police knew about the threat. However, using the telephone call as an excuse, they refused to investigate the abduction of the women's rights activist.

The University Women's Collective started a nightlong vigil for Feride with the hashtag #FerideNerede (Where is Feride?), hoping to pressure the police to take action. The province of Muğla has been on women's movement activists' agenda lately, as four women have been killed in the province so far this month, including 18-year-old Cansu Kaya, who was raped and killed while returning home from work last week.

On Saturday, Feride was found. According to the University Women's Collective, the attackers had taken Feride to the city of Adana, but were caught in a nearby village. Feride, who activists say is in good condition, has returned to Muğla.
