AMED – Mutlu Kaya, the 19-year-old singer who nearly lost her life in a femicide attempt in Turkey's Diyarbakır province one month ago, is reportedly improving.

Since an unknown attacker shot Kurdish singer Mutlu Kaya in the head in her home in the district of Ergani, in Turkey's Diyarbakır province, she has been in intensive care for the last 33 days. Mutlu's mother, Hanım Kaya, reported that Mutlu's condition is improving.

Mutlu has not spoken, but has moved her eyelashes and responded when addressed, said her mother. Doctors have told the family that Mutlu's health is improving. However, said Hanım, Mutlu "has a long way to go."
