AMED – A delegation formed by the Human Rights Association has headed to the Akçakale Border Gate between Turkey and Syria to observe the human rights situation at the border.

Thousands of residents of the city of Girê Spî (Tel Abyad) fled the war in the city over the last few days, in spite of attempts by Turkish soldiers at the border to send them back into the city. The YPJ/YPG had called on civilians to leave the city as they liberated it from Daesh, with a commitment to return them to their homes after the war ends.

The delegation is expected to release a report on their findings on the migrants' situation and the activities of soldiers soon.
