AMED - With courts opening a case related to the bombing in Diyarbakır on Friday, the state has issued an order of confidentiality. State prosecutors have launched an investigation against a reporter and public authorities for publishing on the case.

The bombing of a HDP rally in Diyarbakır on June 5 took place two days before the general elections. The attack claimed the lives of four people and left hundreds of people wounded.

A defendant named O.G was apparently arrested last night in Antep province and admitted his offence. The Public Prosecutor of Diyarbakır stated that O.G. was arrested for "willful murder and being a member of a terror organization."

After the arrest, the Public Prosecutor of Diyarbakır appealed to the Criminal Court of Peace for confidentiality order. The court approved the request.

Prosecution launched an investigation against a reporter and public authorities for violating the privacy of the investigation.

Chief prosecutor Ramazan Solmaz said they were determined to keep the investigation transparent, but had requested a confidentiality order since information published in the press jeopardized the welfare of the case.

Ramazan promised to keep the public informed.
