MÊRDÎN – As the vote count begins in Turkey's election, there have been several new rights violations.
In the Ergani district of Diyarbakır province, members of the Hür-Dava Party (linked to the terrorist group Hizbullah) attacked a café with rocks and batons, wounding three. Voter ZülfüDuyu, one of the wounded, said the attack started when his uncle's wife, who does not know Turkish, asked her husband to help her vote. The Hür-Dava members first blocked this, then attacked the family.
In the Bahçelievler neighborhood of Batman, police are posted in the schoolyard of the polling station with long-barreled guns.
