Polling station attacks on HDP voters throughout Turkey

NEWS CENTER – There have been further reports of violent attacks against HDP supporters across Turkey.
Seven people were wounded, one seriously, when voters objected to the fact that voters were being forced to show their votes at a polling station in the Siverek district of Urfa province. The village guards (paramilitaries) attacked HDP observers with knives and stones. The HDP members had to be taken to the hospital. A HDP observer named Sinan Oktan is in mortal danger after a knife wound to the liver.
In the Horasan district of Erzurum, 15 people attacked two HDP activists, one of them the party's district co-chair Nuri Aydın. The group was reported to be relatives of the AKP mayor of the city, Kadir Aydın. The attackers told the HDP activists, "you're terrorists; you can't vote here" as they went to the polls in Yelli Baba village.
Meanwhile, in the Aegean province of Izmir's Bayraklı district, the AKP district chair arrived with a large group claiming that HDP observers' observing cards were "not acceptable." The group fled, but immediately afterwards police came and fired tear gas at the HDP activists. Two were wounded.
