AMED – Şehmuz Kaçan, one of the people killed in the bombing on a Diyarbakır Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) rally, has been buried in his native village. Today, bombing victims Ramazan Yıldız and Necati Kurul will be buried as well.

After twin bombings at a crowded HDP rally rocked Diyarbakır yesterday afternoon, citizens wounded by the ball bearing-based cluster bombs were rushed to hospitals across the city. Despite the efforts of local doctors and the solidarity of thousands of Diyarbakır residents who flooded to the hospitals to give blood, three have lost their lives so far.

Necati Kurul, 46, lost his life at Diyarbakır's Veni Vidi hospital last night. 16-year-old Razaman Yıldız died in Dicle University's Medical Faculty Hospital last night while in surgery. Finally, Şehmuz Kaçan, after also having surgery at the university hospital, lost his life in intensive care.

Last night, Şehmuz Kaçan's family and HDP activists buried him in his native village of Sirim, near Diyarbakır. 16-year-old Ramazan Yıldız, the youngest victim of the bombing, will be buried in a mass ceremony in the coming hours, as will Necati Kurul.

316 people are continuing to be treated in hospitals in the city for wounds sustained in the bombing.
