TIL TEMIR – As the YPG/YPJ resistance drives back Daesh attacks on the Rojava city of Til Temir, life has begun to return to normal. Women in the Logistics Center are working to ensure the safety of the population returning to Til Temir after fleeing Daesh attacks.
A long YPG/YPJ resistance finally managed to drive back Daesh gangs from the city of Til Temir, in Rojava's Cizîrê Canton, on February 23. Institutions in the city have set up a number of stations throughout the city to meet the basic needs of the population. One of these is the Logistics Center, where five staff members oversee the quality of the goods sold in the long-embattled city to ensure public health.
Emel Elî, 24, says that the women working at the Logistics Center have met opposition from the shopkeepers, who are loth to see the women seize and destroy goods that are past their sell-by date. However, she says, "we're always ready to do our duty."
