Around 750 rescued from Boko Haram in past week

NEWS CENTER – The Nigerian military has announced that 234 women and children have been freed from Boko Haram today, bringing the total number freed from the Sambisa Forest area in recent operations to around 750.
The Sambisa Forest is an area that has long been under Boko Haram occupation. Today, 234 more women and girls were rescued in the area of Kawuri and Konduga. Combined with the group of 293 rescued on Tuesday and another 150 rescued on Thursday, the total number of women and girls rescued is around 750.
Whether or not the still-missing Chibok girls are among their number is still unknown. The women and girls are currently going through health checks as officials try to learn their identities and places of origin.
At least one woman lost her life in the clashes in the Sambisa Forest area.
