Explosion at Silvan dam wounds 13 workers

AMED – An explosion at a dam in Northern Kurdistan has wounded at least 13 of the 30 workers at the Silvan Dam. The workers have been transported to the hospital. Two are seriously wounded.
An explosion at a tunnel at the dam, located between the cities of Silvan (in Diyarbakır province) and Batman, has left six workers severely burned and seven poisoned. The explosion is reported to have been caused by the compression of gas in the tunnel.
The wounded have been taken to the Silvan State Hospital.
