TILTEMIR– Women peacekeeping forces in TilTemir have issued a call for all young women in Rojava to join the self-defense struggle as YPG/YPJ forces continue giving heavy blows to Daesh in TilTemir.

The TilTemir resistance, now on its 48th day, has been realized through the cooperation of a range of self-defense forces in the diverse city, located in Rojava'sCizîrê Canton. One of those forces is the Women's Asayiş (peacekeeping forces).

"Our forces are playing the role that falls to us and will continue to do so," said BerivanMehmûd, one of the Asayişadministrators. "Today is the day of resistance, and the day of freedom."

CemileEreb, a member of the Asayiş, explained that women of the organization are in charge of control points within the city and in several points in its environs, where they maintain the peace in the besieged city of TilTemir.

"At the same time, we try to solve problems that the people bring to us," she said.

JîndaUmer, also of the Asayiş, says that, "everyone says that women can't be part of defense," but that the resistance of groups like the TilTemir Women's Asayiş has proven that women can defeat the marauding Daesh gangs.
