QAMIŞLO – As work continues in Rojava to build a democratic and autonomous way of life in the cantons, the women's movement organization Yekîtiya Star held a meeting with Qamişlo women today about forming women's communes in the city.

The meeting started with a moment of silence in respect for those who have lost their lives in the struggle for democracy.

Silva Efrin, speaking on the importance of communes, said they would be crucial in the process of rebuilding Rojava cities under attack. She said that communes were a solution to many of the problems facing Rojava.
