Women's Civil Defense Forces (YPS-JIN) member Evindar Kılıçarslan (nom de guerre Rojevin Garzan) died in a clash erupted between state forces and the YPS-JIN in Yüksekova district Hakkari during martial law that has been imposed by the state. Rojevin was born in the Söğütlü village of Bitlis's Tatvan district in 1989. Rojevin is known as a sensitivity and humanitarian person. Rojevin began to study in Department of Sociology of the Istanbul University Faculty of Literature after the difficulties in her childhood. She faced the discriminator policies of the state when she was a student in the university. She turned her face to mountains like many Kurdish youths by saying that she din't believe the sincerity of the state despite the "peace progress" which was began in 2013. Rojevin took the name of Gurbet Altun ( nom de guerre Rojevin Amed) who died with her 15 friends during a clash erupted in the Olek village of Hizan in 2012 to keep Gurbet alive. Rojevin's family told their daughter to us. Mother of Rojevin Süreyya Kılıçarslan said, "I didn't want Rojevin to live like me. We didn't have education but our daughter must have. So we sent her to school. Rojevin's place was diffirent for me. She was my first child. She loved her brothers and sisters. She got along with her daughter.

"Rojevin loved the nature. She took her books to hill and she read them there. My daughter loved to sing, too. She sung the song "My homeland is mountains". She pioneered to her friends when she was in premier school."

Süreyya said that Rojevin called her before she went to mountains. Then Süreyya learned that her daughter died in Yüksekova. "We had many difficulties when we went to Erzurum to identify our daughter's body. Only her father was allowed to see our daughter. They didn't even allow us to see our daughter for the last time." Süreyya pointed out that the war must be ended before more youths die.

Rojevin's father İkram Kılıçarslan, meanwhile, said, "The state forced us to be village guard when we lived in the village. We had to leave our village to big city in Turkey due to we didn't accept to be village guard. I stayed in prison for a while. Rojevin discussed with the guardians when she visited me. She couldn't torerate unfairnees when she was child.

"Once she went to hospital in Tatvan. We gave her money for the bus and food only, because our economic condition was bad that time. She saw two hungry children who looked at the restaurant when she went to hospital. She bought some food for them. So she couldn't buy her medicines. She turned her face to mountains like many Kurdish youths by saying that she din't believe the sincerity of the state despite the "peace progress" which was began in 2013. Rojevin felt sorry when she heard the police and soldiers die. She didn't eat meat, she was a vegetarian. She told us, "How can a living creature eat another living creature?" She was against the killing. However, Rojevin had to take the weapon to protect her people."
