ÇHD, ÖHD and MHD: We won’t bow down

ISTANBUL- The activity of the Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD), Libertarian Jurists Association (ÖHD) and Mesopotamia Lawyers Association (MHD) has been suspended for three months with the applications of the State of Emergency and Statutory Decree (KHK). The associations released a written text and reacted to the decision. “Fascism invited us to fight. We accept their invitation. We will continue to deceive those who believe they will silence us by closing the buildings,” said the members of the associations.
 
The activity of the Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD), Libertarian Jurists Association (ÖHD) and Mesopotamia Lawyers Association (MHD) has been suspended for three months with the applications of the State of Emergency and Statutory Decree (KHK) by Turkey’s Interior Ministry. The members of the associations made a written statement on the decision. The statement is as follows;
 
“Dear colleagues, last night, our associations’ activities were suspended within the scope of the State of Emergency law by night raids. The associations’ doors were sealed. The activity of the ÇHD, ÖHD, MHD, Justice School and many opponent and democratic institutions and organizations has been suspended for three months by fascist the State of Emergency law. We will continue to deceive those who believe they will silence us by closing the buildings.
 
“Fascism invited us to fight. We accept their invitation. Against fascism, we will continue to be the lawyers of our people, oppressed people and laborers in the streets, courthouses and behind the barricades as we did before. This struggle is against fascism, this struggle is a freedom struggle. We don’t remain silent, we don’t bow down.”
