Women's groups call for mass turnout at Duisburg final farewell to Ivana

BERLIN –Women's organizations in Europe have called for women, migrants and female revolutionaries to bid farewell to fallen revolutionary fighterIvana Hoffman tomorrow in Duisburg.


The Socialist Women's Union, European Kurdish Women's Movement (TJK-E), New Woman and Assyrian Women's Movement called for mass attendance for the funeral of the German-African internationalist revolutionary, who lost her life defending the Rojava revolution.


Ivana rejected life in Europe to reach immortality in Rojava fighter for the MLKP (Marxist Leninist Communist Party) and the YPJ, said the statement. She took an active part in the defense of Assyrian, Syriac and Chaldean women and children in the region.


"Brave Ivana Hoffman has become a symbol of the human resistance of all peoples in the honorable struggle that has blossomed in Rojava into the 21st century Kurdish women's revolution," said the women's groups. "She reached martyrdom fighting in the frontlines both against the sovereigns of imperialist capitalist modernity and the Daesh gangs they supported."


Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) General Co-Chair FigenYüksekdağ and PYDCo-Chair Salih Muslim will also attend the ceremony tomorrow, March 14th at 1 p.m. at the Duisburg HambornRathaus.
